URGE are part of alternative music history and coined the term 'Hardcorehausen'. At the beginning of the 90s, several bands formed in Hanover at the same time.The music magazine "Spex" gave them and the city the name "Hardcorehausen". In 1990, URGE had already released their first longplayer "Listen Carefully To The Powerful Urge Outburst*, and shortly afterwards their first studio album "Why Hide The Lie" in 1991. In the same year, they accompanied Washington legends FUGAZI on their European tour. The desire to carry on was rekindled at the beginning of 2022, now the spark should ignite and ignite a smoldering fire slowly and steadily! The English word "URGE" means something like urge, desire, need and describes where the band gets its drive from.With their new songs "Interfere the Game", which was released in early 2023, and "Brainwashed", URGE have already ignited the embers for the other new songs.Now all 6 songs will be released on Rookie Records.Who needs genre pigeonholes: post-hardcore, alternative, crossover?URGE's lyrics mainly deal with social and political topics such as fake news 'Interfere the Game', the conviction of one's own 'megalomaniacal' infallibility 'Brainwashed', the constant expectation to have an opinion on everything and immediately 'Choice' or what decisions one is faced with when a war threatens in one's own country 'What if War'. But there is also room for dealing with personal issues. Wordless touches as the only hopeful feeling in sterile hospital wards 'Hellnoise' or the piercing, unnerving sound in your head when it comes to separation 'Leaving 2.0'.
