Tomoya Okazaki ist ein Einzelgänger, der die Schule nicht wirklich ernst nimmt. Während seine Mitschüler sich auf die kommende Aufnahmeprüfung vorbereiten, kommt er regelmäßig zu spät und hängt seinen Gedanken nach. Eines Tages lernt er die tollpatschige und ruhige Nagisa Furukawa kennen. Er hilft ihr bei der Vorbereitung ihres Theaterstücks und lernt dabei auch andere Mitschüler kennen. Nach anfänglichem Zweifel öffnet er Ihnen und besonders Nagisa langsam sein Herz .
