Bettina Henrich präsentiert ihr Debut-Album ME. Einerseits ist sie momentan Deutschlands älteste Newcomerin (Jahrgang 1967), andererseits ist sie schon seit vielen Jahren als Schlagzeugerin mit diversen Bands wie Freak Family oder der Frauenformation PrimaVera europaweit aktiv. Neu ist sie also lediglich als Songwriterin und Sängerin. Das Talent dazu hat Bettina Henrich von ihrem Vater geerbt, dem Gitarristen und Singer/Songwriter Udo Henrich. Und von Talent kann man wohl reden, wie der Erfolg ihres Songs NEW ORLEANS IN THE RAIN beweist. Der Titel fand sofort Eingang in die Playlists von über einem Dutzend Radiostationen in Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Kalifornien, New York, Colorado und Utah in den USA sowie in den Niederlanden. Einen Teil des Geldes leitet sie über den New Orleans Hilfe e.V. weiter an die Opfer von Hurricane Katrina. Inzwischen spielen diese Sender auch weitere Henrich-Songs wie THINGS I WANNA SAY, BOOM BOOM, MISTER BUTTERFLY und neuerdings LULLABY, die alle auf dieser CD zu hören sind. Faszinierend dabei, wie Bettina Henrich ihre natürliche, scheinbar am Bossa Nova gewachsene Stimme einsetzt. Ob leichtfüßig-swingend, melancholisch-balladesk oder rockig-zupackend, ob in deutscher oder englischer Sprache - sie meistert verschiedenste Grooves und Feelings, ihre Handschrift aber bleibt unverkennbar. Eine Sängerin mit starkem Charakter. Und im Studio hatte sie namhafte Unterstützung. Die Gitarren werden bedient von Till Schubert und von Loomis Green aus Daytona Beach, Florida, der u.a. durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Jan Delay und den Weather Girls bekannt wurde. Keyboarder Xaver Fischer spielte u.a. mit Sasha, Sarah Connor, den Supremes, den Nighthawks und ist natürlich Chef des Xaver Fischer Trios. Am Bass wirken Thomas Cap Gier und für vier Songs Wolfgang Diekmann von Albie Donnelly s Supercharge, der auch schon als Sideman von Deborah Henson glänzte. Drummer und Produzent Eric Harings ist durch Gruppen wie N.O.H.A. und Ortiga bekannt und lehrt als Dozent am renommierten Drummers Institute in Düsseldorf.
