a million years of solitude about to merge into the cloud
From the stars we come, to the stars we go. Each end of a journey is only the beginning of a new one - an eternal cycle of creating, becoming and passing that allows the universe to breathe. One who knows exactly what those words mean is Peter Spilles. Now the eternal visionary takes on this greatest of all cosmic themes and lays the foundation for a new album trilogy that makes starry clear, which is why PROJECT PITCHFORK are the exception of dark electronic music.
when stars are born no one can stop them
These are big words. But thought leader Spilles lets them follow even bigger deeds. It almost scary looks like how inspired, pioneering and style-defining he still goes to work even after 25 years of career - and with what regularity he gives the electro genre new milestones. Not much more than a year ago, he moved and inspired with the highly emotional 'Look Up, I'm Down There', now he leads the cosmic powers already working on this concept album into even higher dimensions. With 'Accretion', the first part of this visionary new trilogy, Spilles is dedicated to the beginning, the emergence of suns with their planets, the foundation of all being.
you are the problem, the answer and the cure
Before we will make acquaintance with 'Fragment' and 'Elysium' in the near future, this prelude takes us deep into endless expanses, into the apparent nothingness between the stars. Where stars are born and pass again, where time and space are no more than an illusion, 'Accretion' is at home: a cosmic electro-opus, as weightless as space and as fascinating as its stars, as dark shimmering as night. With a skilled hand, Spilles weaves epic sound rugs that sparkle like a distant star, pulsing like a spiral nebula, which on the one hand seem endless and alien but on the other hand carry human warmth, empathy and compassion. Where macrocosm meets microcosm, 'accretion' begins. An album, and that has always been the strength of this project that you can both hear and feel: this prelude is an intoxicating head cinema that works as well as a work of art as it does as a club manifesto.
when nature sleeps she dreams of you
Dark Electro, which may already be carved in stone with part 1 of this triptych, is redefined with this trilogy. It is no wonder that it is again the shape of Peter Spilles who steps on the plan as a great innovator, as a rethinker and pioneer. With 'Accretion', he builds a captivating bulwark of electronic nature, whose tension field ranges from waving, monumental melodies to retrofuturistic sounds, spherical surfaces, gloomy rumbling club zeitgeist to cinematic soundscapes. Love gives birth to hate, joy gives birth to mourning, death gives birth to new life, everything arises, everything becomes, everything flows, everything is at the same time. As diverse, as beautiful and as tragic as life itself, looking at the stars as well as the innermost: 'Accretion' is the entry of Project Pitchforks into a new dimension. Time again. And yet it is only the beginning. We haven't heard anything yet!
