Sira Hernández aus Barcelona debütierte als Pianistin im Alter von 16 Jahren im Auditorium des Conservatorio Statale di Musica Giuseppe Verdi in Turin, wo sie dann auch ihr Musikstudium bei Remo Remoli absolvierte, einem Schüler Arturo Benedetti Michelangelis. Später, wieder in Barcelona, studierte sie bei der großen Alicia de Larrocha. Es folgten Kompositions-Studien. Inspirationsquellen ihrer Werke sind Poesie, Literatur und Malerei.
