Robert M. Helmschrott: Ex Oriente Lux: An Interfaith Dialogue

Die Hagia Sophia in Konstantinopel (zuerst christliche Kirche, dann Moschee) und die Mezquita in Córdoba (zuerst Moschee, dann christliche Kirche) sind Symbole für die Möglichkeit – bei gegenseitigem Respekt vor der Würde des Menschen –, verschiedene Arten von Gottesglauben anzuerkennen. Robert M. Helmschrott ließ sich zu den beiden Orgel-Werken „Hagia Sophia“ und „Córdoba“ von diesen Bauwerken inspirieren. „Ex oriente lux“ weist auf Abraham, in der jüdischen und christlichen Tradition Stammvater der zwölf Stämme Israels und damit auch Jesus von Nazareths, in der islamischen Tradition Stammvater der Araber und Vorfahren des Propheten. Alle Werke der Aufnahme entstanden im Auftrag des Organisten Franz Hauk.
