Bei der Auswahl der Werke für ihre Einspielung bei ARS PRODUKTION haben Tiffany Butt und Maria Cecilia Munoz verschiedene Epochen betrachtet um zu verstehen, welche Auswirkungen Unterdrückung und Unfreiheit auf den kreativen Prozess hatten. Sie interessierte nicht so sehr das, was Menschen aufgrund von einschränkenden Situationen und widrigen Umständen nicht tun konnten, sondern vor allem das, was sie trotz dieser Umstände erreicht haben. Bei ihrer Recherche sind sie auf beeindruckende Künstlerpersönlichkeiten gestoßen, die Musik von großem Wert hinterlassen haben.
