CREATE A WORLD OF SHAW AND LIGHT - Okra Playground release their third album with "Itku" (translated: wines) dealing with the high-current theme of change. The six musicians impress with an exciting mix of traditional Finnish folk sounds, electronic music and rocky sounds. Appears as a CD on Nordic Notes. Trademarks of this Finnish "supergroup" are the three expressive voices of the singers. The sextet captivates the listeners with hypnotic rhythms and energetic sounds. Of Finnish restraint nothing is felt at Okra Playground when they brush traditional folk sounds correctly against the stroke. The musicians convince again with a real hand for intertones. All songs come from Hirvonen, Maija Kauhanen and Veikko Muikku, who are also responsible for part of the album production. The album tracks evolved from solo work by the musicians and in joint sessions. Compared to their previous albums, the band members wrote the lyrics predominantly themselves. The age-old texts of traditional Finnish runo vocals continue to serve as an important source of inspiration.
