Die Veröffentlichung ihres ersten und einzigen Live-Albums Ende 1983 markierte eine neue Phase in der Karriere von The Rods. Die letzte Platte "In The Raw" war einmalig über Shrapnel Records erschienen und folglich nur in den USA erhältlich. Mit "Live" hingegen unterzeichnete man bei Combat Records, die ihrerseits zahlreiche ausländische Lizenzdeals abgeschlossen hatten, etwa mit Roadrunner in Europa sowie Music For Nations im Vereinigten Königreich. "Keine Balladen, kein epischer Unfug … The Rods sind eines der aktuell tightesten Outfits", behauptete das englische Magazin Metal Forces zum ursprünglichen Veröffentlichungszeitpunkt von "Live". Und wie fast immer lagen sie damit goldrichtig. Original transfer by Marcus Mossmann at PHONOGRAPHIC ARTIFACTS. Audio restoration and mastering by Patrick W.
