Nach dem 7’ Release erscheint nun das Debütalbum der Kölner ROPES OF NIGHT (ex-ULTHA), die mit ‘Impossible Space’ ein stimmiges Post-Punk-Album vorlegen. Erscheint als CD und Vinyl-LP auf GOLDEN ANTENNA RECORDS. ROPES OF NIGHT ist das neue Projekt um ULTHAs RALPH SCHMIDT, der hier seine Vorliebe für Postpunk / Dark Wave / Shoegaze auslebt. Das erste Lebenszeichen der Band erschien in Form einer limitierten 7’ auf GOLDEN ANTENNA RECORDS vor zwei Jahren. ROPES OF NIGHT wurde 2019 in Köln von RALPH SCHMIDT gegründet. SCHMIDT, sonst kreativer Kopf hinter bekannten Acts wie ULTHA oder PLANKS beweist hier seine musikalische Vielseitigkeit und schwört dem Blackmetal bei diesem Projekt ab. Zusammen mit vier weiteren MusikerInnen, die zuvor in Bands, wie ATKA, VEAGAS, MINUSMAN, BLACK WANDA oder auch ULTHA gespielt haben, veröffentlicht SCHMIDT nun das Debütalbum ‘Impossible Space’. Die Einflüsse sind klar erkennbar, liegen in den 80er Jahren und sind klar von Postpunk, Shoegaze und Dark Wave inspiriert. Fans von THE MISSION, THE CHAMELEONS, JOY DIVISION, NEW MODEL ARMY, SOFT KILL und TEMPLE OF ANGELS kommen voll auf ihre Kosten.
