Der allmählich in die Jahre kommende Einbruchsspezialist Nick (Robert De Niro) lässt sich aufgrund eines möglichen hohen Gewinns auf ein letztes riskantes Geschäft ein. Er soll ein massiv goldenes Königszepter aus dem Zollgebäude in Montréal stehlen.
