Mit dem aktuellen Album Distant Earth schoss ATB bis auf Platz 7 der Media Control Charts, Andre Tannebergers bisher höchste Platzierung in den deutschen Albumverkaufscharts.
Was liegt näher, als sich dem Erfolgsalbum mit weiteren superben Remixen der Albumtracks durch eine illustre Auswahl an international bekannten DJs und Producern weiter anzunähern und gesammelt auf einem Remixalbum zu veröffentlichen. Die involvierten Remixer konnten ihre favourite Tracks aus Distant Earth frei wählen, aus denen sie dann mit ihrer persönlichen Interpretation der gewählten ATB-Songs jeweils eine Remixversion zum Album Distant Earth Remixed beisteuerten. Auch Andre hat sich einiger seiner Songs angenommen und neue Mixe produziert. Dabei ist der Output qualitativ so überzeugend und umfassend, dass Distant Earth Remixed auf Doppel CD veröffentlicht wird.
