The Sweetest Klezmer Orchestra

Halva is het Belgisch-Duits-Letse ensemble waarmee de Belg Nicolaas Cottenie de links onderzoekt tussen traditionele klezmermuziek en de culturen die de Ashkenazim (de Jiddisch-sprekende joden in Oost-Europa) omringden: Grieks, Hongaars, en zelfs Westerse klassieke muziek. Het repertoire bestaat uit nieuwe composities in traditionele vorm. De bijna melodieuze percussie van Robbe Kieckens accentueert de Griekse, Turkse en Arabische elementen, de ritmesectie wordt vervolledigd door het groovy snarenduo Eline Duerinck (cello) en Alina Bauer (viool).
