The Homematic IP window and door contact is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and reliably monitors the opening and closing of windows/doors using a magnetic contact. In combination with a radiator thermostat, it reduces energy consumption in the home and alerts if unauthorised access via the free Homematic IP app – even on the go. The setup can be carried out flexibly via Homematic IP app (in conjunction with the Homematic IP Access Point) or via a browser-based interface (in conjunction with a central CCU2/CCU3). Alternatively, the smart window contact can also be operated without a central unit: the stand-alone operation (push-to-pair) allows you to directly learn up to eight radiator thermostats - basic (HmIP-eTRV-B) for automatic lowering of the room temperature when ventilating. Via the app, the window contact can be integrated into a comprehensive smart home system and thus additionally used for security applications. The cloud solution allows flexible remote access at any time from any location. If you prefer to know the data locally in the home network, but still want to benefit from the benefits of a smart home system, you can use the setup via the central CCU3. The power is supplied by two LR03 batteries, which can power the sensor for up to four years. For secure installation, both double-sided adhesive strips and matching screws are included.
