Kirby Yorke ist der Kommandant eines Forts im Westen. Außer von den Apachen steht ihm weiterer Ärger ins Haus, als sein Sohn Jefferson, den er schon lange nicht mehr gesehen hat, als neuer Rekrut auftaucht.
