Als ihr Privatflugzeug versehentlich ohne sie abhebt, strandet Prinzessin Amalia aus dem Königreich Vollan während eines Schneesturms in der winzigen Stadt Tucker, Maine. Dort wird sie von der herzlichen Belle aufgenommen, die keine Ahnung von ihrem königlichen Status hat. Nicht so einladend ist Belles verwitweter Sohn Sam, der Jasmine für ein verwöhntes, reiches Mädchen hält. Er erkennt bald seinen Fehler, als sich eine Romanze entwickelt.
