Juni 1999: Die in Jugoslawien stationierte russische Taskforce rund um Einsatzleiter Bek erhält aus Moskau den Befehl, die Kontrolle über den Luftwaffenstützpunkt Slatina im Kosovo zu übernehmen und bis zum Eintreffen der Verstärkung zu verteidigen. Schnell findet sie sich in einem ungleichen Kampf gegen die albanische Untergrundmiliz UÇK wieder. Doch der strategisch wichtige Standort muss um jeden Preis bis zur Ankunft der russischen Armee gehalten werden – auch wenn Bek und sein Team dafür mit ihrem Leben bezahlen müssen.
