The Ostheimer figures are made exclusively from high-quality, reforestable domestic woods. Most figures are made of maple. Some but also deliberately made of ash. The ash wood has a unique structure and colouring, which allow for some figures e.g. rhino or palm tree an unusual design. Ash, maple or lime wood?

Most of our figures, like many other toddler toys, are made of maple. The colour of this domestic wood is bright and usually shows very little grain, so it is suitable for the "white" animal world, e.g. sheep or polar bears also ideal without painting. On the other hand, the texture of the maple wood allows an undisturbed and beautiful painting of the products.

Ash is the powerful, quirky wood with a rain drawing. It supports the unusual character of many figures in the design. Each figure made of ash looks completely different from the rest at first glance. The strong wooden drawings already partially create their own form of expression, as in nature. Therefore, some animals (e.g. Rhino, camel etc.). , many trees as well as the quirky Rumpelstiltchen, the gnomes or the strong Capricorn made of ash.
