Als Al Di Meola Anfang der 90er Jahre in Kooperation mit Gibson die Al Di Meola Jazz Guitar kreierte, war es nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis der einzigartige Klang dieser Gitarre auf einem Studioalbum zu hören sein würde. "Orange and Blue" war 1994 dieses Album. Di Meolas virtuose Gitarrenläufe und Solos verbinden seine einmalige Technik mit einer neu-entdeckten Leidenschaft für Swing.
