A bicycle hose usually consists of butyl rubber. Butyl is a very elastic and at the same time airtight synthetic rubber. Just like with the tire, however, other fillers are necessary for the rubber mixture. From the rubber mixture used, significant differences in quality can result. Schwalbe hoses are, for example, Eg extremely airy and elastic. Due to the high elasticity, a hose covers a wide range of different tire sizes.

All valves are nickel plated and with a thread logo in gold in the lid of the box. The valve insert is always replaceable. Also the hoses with the classic bicycle valve are air pressure testable at Schwalbe and have a high pressure stable valve seal. As an optical coronation, each tube has a shapely dust cover made of transparent polycarbonate.

All hoses are pumped up and stored for 24 hours to test for airiness. Then, each hose is carefully checked individually by visual inspection. The special quality control, which prevents unpleasant surprises. The Schwalbe hose has been appreciated by German bicycle dealers for many years for its high reliability.
