Halva is het internationale ensemble rond de Belgische violist Nicolaas Cottenie. In zijn composities gaat hij op zoek naar de vele verbindingen tussen traditionele Jiddische muziek en de muzikale tradities in Zuid- en Oost-Europa. Op deze nieuwe cd staan daarbij vooral muzikale inspiratie uit Griekenland, Turkije, Bulgarije, RoemeniÙ en Westerse klassieke muziek centraal. Het resultaat is energieke, levendige muziek, met toch ook introverte momenten.
