The Nightingale

Tasmania 1825 For young Irish prisoner Clare, life in the Australian penal colony is hell. As a serf of Lieutenant Hawkins, she is subjected to permanent abuse and eventually even has to watch her family be cruelly murdered. Driven by her desire for retribution, she wants to bring her tormentors to the track. Clare is supported by a local track reader with whom she shares the fate of the disenfranchised and her thirst for revenge.

Inspired by historically guaranteed events, Jennifer Kent, the director of the modern cult classic THE BABADOOK, has created an impressive and elaborately staged vengeance western that leaves his audience speechless. On the side of the grandiose playing Aisling Franciosi, Sam Claflin (the colour of the horizon, a whole half year) can be seen in a main role.
