L’attesissimo secondo capitolo del survival movie apocalittico diretto da Ric Roman Waugh, con protagonista Gerard Butler, anche in veste di produttore. Cinque anni dopo l’impatto della cometa Clarke che ha devastato la Terra, la famiglia Garrity è sopravvissuta rifugiandosi in un bunker in Groenlandia. Ma quando anche quell’ultimo baluardo viene distrutto, John Garrity, sua moglie Allison e il figlio Nathan sono costretti a tornare in superficie. Il mondo che li attende è irriconoscibile: un pianeta ferito, segnato da catastrofi climatiche continue e da una umanità ridotta allo stremo. Tra le macerie di un’Europa congelata e ostile, i Garrity intraprendono una migrazione disperata verso la Francia, dove si dice possa esistere un nuovo luogo in cui ricostruire la civiltà.
