Melinda (Tilda Cobham-Hervey), een eenzame en mentaal instabiele tankstation medewerkster, is het zat om steeds in de schaduw te staan van haar zelfverzekerde collega Sheila (Suki Waterhouse). Als het tankstation wordt overvallen door Billy (Josh Hutcherson), een wanhopige man die snel geld nodig heeft, ziet Melinda haar kans om eindelijk een echte connectie te maken met iemand. Ondanks dat Billy de overvaller is en hij Melinda en Sheila bedreigt met een pistool, wordt het langzamerhand steeds onduidelijker wie er nou écht het slachtoffer is…
