Gimme danger

Jim Jarmusch’s Gimme Danger laat het verhaal zien van The Stooges, één van de grootste rock-’n-roll bands aller tijden.

Ontstaan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, midden in een culturele revolutie in de 90’s, sloeg de krachtige en agressieve rock-’n-roll stijl van The Stooges een krater in het muzikale landschap. Ze bestormden het publiek met een mix van rock, blues, R&B en vrije jazz, en legden daarmee de grondslag voor wat in de decennia daarna punk en alternatieve rock zou gaan heten.

De documentaire presenteert de opkomst van The Stooges in zowel muzikale, culturele, politieke als historische context. Het toont hun avonturen, maar ook tegenspoed, hun inspiratiebronnen en de legendarische indruk die ze achter hebben gelaten.
