Mit „Counterpoint“ schließt der gebürtige Flensburger nahtlos an die Alben „White Noise“ (im Trio mit Philipp Catherine und Ack von Rooyen), und „Gravity“ (im Trio mit Peter Weniger und Jonas Burgwinkel) an. Zählt man „Air“ (2022) und „My Astorian Queen“ (2021, alle Laika Records) hinzu, kommt man auf fünf Alben in drei Jahren. Das nennt man wohl eine kreative Phase, die jedoch einen ernsten Hintergrund hat. „Die Erfahrung mit Ack van Rooyen, der kurz nach der Produktion unseres Trio- Albums verstarb, zeigt mir, dass manche Herzensangelegenheiten keinen Aufschub dulden“, erklärt Wind. Er will Projekte, die ihm wichtig sind, zeitnah umsetzen, statt sie auf die lange Bank zu schieben. Ganz oben auf seiner Wunschliste: ein Album mit dem Pianisten Kenny Barron. Klingt so, als wenn die kreative Phase von Martin Wind noch ein Weilchen andauern wird.
