Burt Reynolds fully in action again. He masters his profession as well as a playboy as a football professional or prisoner. Paul Crewe, former football star and now mainly playboy, throws himself with a rich friend, flits away with her sports car and lands immediately in prison. In this prison, hell is loose. Crewe also gets into the conflicts between supervisor and director and falls into disgrace when he beats off the sports-loving director to train his fast professional supervisory team. After a stay in the murderous penal camp, he is then inclined to train a football team - but the opponent, the team of the convicts, and he manages to push them up to a combat machine despite all weaknesses.
