Hailed by the international media, Chuanyun Li is one of the foremost violinists of his generation, both from China and internationally. An active member of the Yip's Children's Arts Centre since 1986, he studied under the sponsorship of entrepreneur Choi Kin Chung with Professor Yaoil Lin from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He has won numerous prizes, including First Prize in the 5th Wieniawski International Youth Violin Competition at age eleven. Chuanyun Li has studied with Dorothy DeLay, Itzhak Perlman, and Hyo Kang at the Juilliard School of Music, continued studies at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and worked with Joey Corpus in New York. Li has toured extensively in China, Japan, and the US, collaborating with such orchestras as the Rotterdam Philharmonic under Valery Gergiev, the Detroit Symphony with Neemi Jrvi, the Hong Kong Philharmonic with Edo De Waart, and many more.
