Winner of a series of Soviet competitions, her international success came in 1987 when she won First Prize in the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition. In May 1988 she began her first extended tour of the West, including the US, with a recital at the First New York International Festival of the Arts.Zilberstein has made many previous recordings for Deutsche Grammophon including the Grieg concerto with the Gothenburg Symphony and Jrvi, and Rachmaninov's Second and Third Piano Concertos with Claudio Abbado and the Berlin Philharmonic.
