The office worker Josef K. (Anthony Perkins) is arrested one morning completely unexpectedly and without giving reasons. Even during his wracking process, no one clarifies him about the plea, and no real help is obviously expected from his lawyer. The accused seems caught in a surreal nightmare from which there is no awakening.

THE PROCESS shows Orson Welles' personal interpretation of Franz Kafka's world-renowned, surrealistic novel about the arrest of an insignificant office worker with Anthony Perkins, Jeanne Moreau and Romy Schneider in the main roles. In 1962, he was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Orson Welles himself considered the film to be the best of his creative time.
