Charles Dickens Nicholas Nickleby

Als der Vater plötzlich stirbt, steht die Familie Nickleby beinahe mittellos da und dem jungen Nicholas bleibt kein anderer Ausweg, als sich vom skrupellosen Geldverleiher Ralph Nickleby, der auch noch sein Onkel ist, Geld zu borgen. Nicholas wird von ihm als Lehrer an eine schreckliche Provinzschule geschickt. Von dort gelingt ihm jedoch bald die Flucht, aber nun muss er den Kampf mit dem garstigen Onkel aufnehmen.
