Skeets McDonald was a true Hillbilly singer, but he knew the vulgar power of Boogie-Woogie and the Blues, even cutting one legendary Rockabilly single in the form of 'You Oughta See Grandma Rock' b/w 'Heart Breakin' Mama'. Both of these rockers are on this collection, along with a boatload more tracks showcasing Skeets' unique brand of uptempo Hillbilly, Honky Tonk, risqué novelties ('The Tattooed Lady' ranks as the only song cut in the 1940s that is more relevant today than when it was originally released!) and hard-driving West Coast Country music. Also includes a never-before reissued killer version of 'The Southland Boogie', heard here for the first time on CD and worth the price of admission by itself! Bear Family.
