International trio ARCH, formed by Luca Sguera (piano), Joe Rehmer (double bass) and Giovanni Iacovella (drums) captivates the listener by their complex interplay, expressive improvisations and fresh, playful approach to timbre. The six tracks on their self-titled debut album offer fertile ground for dialogue and experimentation in a delicate balance between composition and improvisation. "In an impenetrable dualism of synthesis and exploration, each member of the trio brings something deeply personal to the discussion. The result is a fluid and ever-shifting dialogue which moves from dense soundscapes to more ethereal moments of airiness, flirting with silence. Like the curve of an arch, the music flows in the space defined by the two pillars, which support the weight of everything above while allowing movement between them."
