Since 2010 SaaR has chosen an instrumental post-metal field for expression through which aesthetics rub shoulders with the atmosphere. With a vast array of influences ranging from Bossk and Russian Circles to Isis and Cult Of Luna, the Parisian quartet has evolved throughout the decade, from a radiant post-rock on his debut album, The Last Day (2013), to a darker universe since its second recording, Sol (2016). After several line-up changes, and the arrival of Julien Taubregeas (Ovtrenoir, Throane, The Great Divide) as a new drummer, SaaR releases Gods, his most successful album to date, in 2021. Always in search of ever more refined songwriting and increasingly developed sound atmospheres, SaaR now offers "Loved", a majestic new epic of almost nine minutes recorded with Francis Caste (Hangman's Chair, Regarde les Hommes Tomber, etc.) at Studio Sainte Marthe (Paris). With two first releases, Maudits is expressed through an instrumental post-metal with a very personal and assertive style. Digging deeper into the confines of doom, post-rock and ambient, Cursed is an almost sensory journey guided by a single will: that of building, without any calculation, a universe of its own. Cursed returns with "Breken", a long play of more than fifteen minutes composed especially for this split with Saar. A title composed in the manner of a film music for which the trio once again surrounded themselves with cellist Raphaël Verguin (Spectrale, Riciin, Psygnosis, Hypno3e) as well as the talented duo Frédéric Gervais / Emmanuel Rousseau, respectively in the production and string arrangements. For fans of Russian Circle, Tool, Crippled Black Phoenix, Cult of Luna, Tides from Nebula, Red Sparrows.
