Ausgebildet in der Schauspielkunst, bringt sie eine Theatralik in ein Genre, dessen Legitimität ständig in Frage gestellt wird und das oft verwaist ist: Französischer R&B. Sie verleiht jedem ihrer Stücke eine Spannung, die an den Surrealismus von Brigitte Fontaine und die Schwüle von D'Angelo erinnert. Für ihr erstes Album hat sich Bonnie Banane mit vielen ihr nahestehenden Produzenten umgeben, wie Para One, Varnish La Piscine, Loubenski, Théo Lacroix, Ponko & Prinzly und Monomite.
