Raoul Vignal wurde in Lyon, Frankreich, geboren und macht seit 2010 authentische, moderne Folk-Musik. Beruhigende Vocals und eine zarte Fingerpicking-Technik sind seine Markenzeichen. Seine Musik wird dabei oft als „evokativ“ beschrieben, doch sein eigentlich offensichtliches Talent zum Songwriting wird manchmal übersehen. Nicht umsonst arbeitete er bereits mit Toningenieuren wie Martin J. Fielder zusammen, der unter anderem seine Hände bei Josh T. Persons Album Last of the Country Gentlemen im Spiel hatte. Wie ein impressionistischer Maler fängt Vignal die Atmosphäre seines Alltags ein und lässt sich von ihr inspirieren. Seine Kompositionen sind nomadisch, jede eine Geschichte, jede eine Postkarte. Raoul Vignals neues Album „Shadow Bands“ zeigt erneut diese reduzierte, kristalline Poesie, die sich still und leise in unsere Herzen schleicht.
