Oreste Eugène De Maurizi ha iniziato la sua carriera come musicista scrivendo musica danza: pasodobles, foxtrots, tango, valzer. per le varie orchestre che ha diretto come Bob Stanley. Queste orchestre suonavano nei popolarissimi "bals populaires" degli anni Venti e Trenta. La musica dell'Europa orientale ha sempre lanciato un incantesimo particolare. Ci sono per esempio innumerevoli versioni della canzone russa "Otchi Tchornye" - "Les yeux noirs " e alcune di queste melodie hanno reso famosi cantanti e musicisti popolari negli anni Cinquanta. Charles Aznavour non ha cantato "Chitarre Deux?" Sotto la direzione musicale del pianista internazionale Eric Lesage, Café de Maurizi Ensemble interpreta con freschezza, entusiasmo e autenticità queste canzoni della Transilvania.
