Rachmaninoff, on the other hand, revisits this form with dramatic intensity and dazzling virtuosity. His Six Musical Moments, composed in 1896, reflect the influence of Tchaikovsky and the Slavic tradition. While Schubert opts for simplicity, Rachmaninoff pushes the boundaries of the genre, transforming each moment into an orchestral fresco, full of energy and passion.
