Why flash-back? "Because almost twenty years ago I left orchestral playing. A big decision. I started to look for another role for the double bass in the world of classical music, with my only compass being instinct, with no preconceived ideas. This CD is like a photo album, or rather a kind of image viewer such as you used to find next to historic monuments and in which you could scroll through slides of the city's sights. It has been said that the double bass is limited; we often hear of this or that double bassist "pushing the limits".
