With this album, HK has re-adapted several classic French songs to the rhythms and melodies of traditional Maghreb music. 'Vesoul', 'The little papers', 'Padam', 'The flat country', or even 'As soon as the wind blows'. "The Deserters" enroll songs by dozens, discovering secret correspondences between the chaâbi and faubouriennes waltzes, between Toulouse and the Maghreb, between the poetry of masters from the 50s and the rhythm of the derbouka. So many songs that see the two shores of the Mediterranean Sea come closer during a concert.
