There is hardly any other more immediately recognizable music than that of Karol Szymanowski, both sensual and immaterial, accompanied here by one of the first masterpieces of Ravel which resonates like a true fairy garden in the extraordinary interpretation of the Joachim Quartet. The Joachim Quartet, bearing the prestigious name of the great German violinist who created the first modern string quartet, has the ambition to bring to life and revive rare repertoire, from the origins of the string quartet form to its most recent developments. The ensembles recordings have consistently received glowing reviews from the press, and have toured internationally. They also enjoy passing their knowledge to young quartets, including spending time in residence at the prestigious Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki.
