RISING CLOUD ORCHESTRA

The Rising Cloud Orchestra is an alternative music group formed in 2011 by its singer, Jean Barisien. A true sonic laboratory, the quintet has over the years crafted a distinctive sound, lyrical and powerful, at the crossroads of avant-garde folk, psychedelic rock, and contemporary music. Among its major influences are Bill Calahan's alt-country, Can's kraut-rock, and the music of Charles Mingus. Jean Barisien's songs, whether written in French or English, serve as pretexts for the expression of a deep and gritty musicality.
