Jean-Baptiste "Toots" Thielemans was van de jaren '40 tot aan zijn dood in 2016 een icoon. Zonder twijfel de grootste harmonicaspeler (en fluiter) in de jazz en begeleider van de grootsten: Count Basie, Lester Young, Billie Holiday of Bill Evans. Deze 4cd richt zich op de eerste opnames die hij als leider maakte, waaronder "The Sound" en "Man Bites Harmonica". Het waren zijn eerste meesterwerken, die van hem een legende maakten.
