(Michel Houellebecq) Belgium was living in tune with America in the Fifties, and it chose to be modern: in 1958, the Brussels Atomium would house the Universal Exhibition. And Belgium saw a whole generation of bebopinfluenced jazzmen, all exceptional players, rising to prominence on the scene in Europe. Their names were Bobby Jaspar, RenE Thomas, Jacques Pelzer, Jack Sels, Toots Thielemans and Fats Sadi. This anthology provides the chance to discover their first recordings. Philippe COMOY
