"Author, composer, professional performer for more than 10 years, the Rennes artist is making his first arms as a slameur. Then, from 2005, he integrates various musical projects to sing his texts, SILENCE // FATRAS (Rock song) and various street and stage performances, not to mention his first loves drums and percussion within s (Irish trad) and AWAKE (Irish trance). - - These experiences offered him the opportunity to discover musically the four corners of France and some parts of Europe! - - Above all, in love with words, in 2020, Mathieu RAMAGE goes solo under his name and puts on his first shows where he accompanies himself on the piano. Today, on stage Mathieu RAMAGE performs solo or in groups, the acerbic and offbeat verb of the artist easily lends itself to the exercise of rock song. - - 2024 marks a turning point in Mathieu's journey with the release of his first album, 'Chansons Joyeuses' co-directed with Niko Chatalain with whom he collaborates for a long time. - - - 'For this album, I wanted to work with my lifelong accomplice, Niko Chatalain. Together we have created, around the Piano-Voice of my solo repertoire, orchestrations and universes specific to each song to sublimate my texts and their intrinsic energy! - - Light and joyful songs, of course, but others more realistic that take the opposite side and ask a question: Can we always dance with oblivion in a world that does not turn round?' You will meet the astonishing Michel Gainsbourg and the valiant little player of Bodhran and discover the surprising destiny of a king. He also delivers some confidences, from how he wanted to create a hit, to why he ran with his words. - - On the recording, the arrangements were enriched by an orchestration licked with Benoît Guillemot (ex Freedom of King Kong) on drums, Xavier Soulabail (Broken Waltz, Marquis) on double bass Gonzalo Gudiño (Guri de Barro, Elekphant) on piano, Romain Baousson (ex Bikini Machine, Archimedes) small percussions and Niko Chatalain (Vincent Premel, Tiki Paradise) on guitar. - - 11 pieces where the strength of evils mingle with words of humor and where the poignant side by side with lightness.
