The American musician RAASHA N AH MAD releases a fourth hip hop album with 'The Sun' as a CD in digipack and LP format via B-SIDES. RAASHAN AHMAD is a producer, DJ, label owner and hip hop artist from New Jersey. His solo albums 'The Push', 'For What You Are Lost' and 'Ceremony' and his albums with his group CROWN CITY ROCKERS have attracted worldwide attention. For almost a year he traveled the world with French producer WAX TAILOR and expanded his experience by collaborating with various artists, such as WILAYA 49, a world music group formed with French and Algerian musicians, and the project LOW FIDELITY, HIGH QUALITY. In addition to these projects, there have been dozens of collaborations with musicians of all genres around the world. From West Coast colleagues like GIFT OF GAB (BLACKALICIOUS) and CHALI 2NA (JURASSIC 5) to soul singer ALOE BLACC, Nigerian musician KEZIAH JONES, STRO ELLIOT (THE ROOTS) and even the Polish ambassador all wanted to work with the hip hop artist. Likewise, 'The Sun' is a production from all over the world. On the title 'Body Heat' you can hear musicians from Dakar, Paris, Seattle, Spain and New Mexico. This was not about the features, but about the music that connects as well as the union of a worldwide community. On this record you will find elements of African rhythms, world music, spoken word, and jazz influences.
