New album in new formation: French percussionist KEYVAN CHEMIRANI releases an album for the first time with the RHYTHM ALCHEMY. (Oriental) world music that relies not only on the percussions, but also on clarinet and cello. Releases as a CD on MOLPE MUSIC. With his father DJAMCHID, one of the last living old masters of the Persian hand drum Zarb, as well as his brother Bijan playing in the world-famous Trio Chemirani, the Keyvan Chemirani born in Paris in 1968 and raised in Manosque is already considered one of the masters of melodically playable, the music of the entire Middle East. Zarb. After studying mathematics, he began his international career as a companion and soloist, which he was not only engaged with numerous representatives of global music, but also with jazz musicians such as SYLVAIN LUC, DIDIER LOCKWOOD, RENAUD GARCIA FONS and LOUIS SCLAVIS as well as with ensembles for ancient music such as the GILLES BINCHOIS ENSE. MBLE, LA CHAPELLE RHÉNANE and the CAPPELLA MEDITERRANEA on stage and in the studio together. With this new album, he expands his familial TRIO CHEMIRANI through five other musicians to the octet THE RHYTHM ALCHEMY. The core of percussionists is framed - or rather expanded by cello, bass clarinet, saz, drums, tablas, the Cretan lyre, as well as vocals and voices. In the eleven songs, wistful melodies of clarinet and cello illustrate the oriental music traditions, but this group wants to explore the possibilities above all without borders. 'Keyvan Chemirani And The Rhythm Alchemy' at no time looks like a performance show for percussionists - here eight musicians find the key to deal with tradition playfully and move elegantly and freedom between contemplative inner worlds and impulsive expression, celebrate the rhythm and dance without losing sight of the harmonies.
