Arguably the highlight of their Eightiesoutput, the third Subhumans album wasrecorded at Woodlands Studio, Castleford,during Spring 1985, and released earlythe following year, a few months after theband had split. Opening with the slightlyincongruous instrumental, 33322, what itlacks in rampant speed, it more thancompensates for with some truly sublimecompositions, assured arrangements anddizzying time changes. With a front coverillustration inked by vocalist Dick, WorldsApart saw the band find a veritable sweetspot in their song-writing, spawning manyof their best-loved tracks, such as Apathy,Businessmen and Cant Hear The Words,but every single track on the albumremains an understated masterpiece.
