With its prominent muscular structure, glossy coat, fawn colour with white patches, protruding lower jaw and droopy jowls there's no doubt that here we are looking at a superb boxer dog. Originally a German breed, the boxer was created as a defence dog. This is an average sized dog, very stocky and muscular. It has a short, coarse and glossy coat which can be fawn or brindle. Its friendly character and sociability make this a very popular dog with its masters. Very gentle with children, it is one of the best four-legged babysitters in the world. The boxer is a fierce fighter and good protector, being naturally suspicious of strangers.
