There is a unique harmony that reigns in the wolf pack. By its howling the wolf makes a 'social call' to indicate its position so that the other members hear it and give it to them in return. But it is also to warn that the area is already occupied by a pack if other groups were trying to approach their area. When we speak of wolf we often refer to the grey wolf which is the best known and most widespread in the world. Being among the largest carnivores in Europe, wolves have been practically exterminated here and are today mainly found in Canada. The wolf is often seen as the symbol of wild nature. Wolves are classified as protected species since 1990.
